Sending a newsletter or other message to a large group of recipients? Sure, you could send "cc:" or "bcc:" copies -- but that looks impersonal, may not get the reader's attention, and is impractical for large lists. So why not personalize your message? Do a "mail merge", by using a group email program to generate and send individual messages to each person on the list.
