Tired of opening your full email program just to check for new messages? Want to scan your messages, read a few and delete some before downloading? Use an email checker or small reader, to check the account on the server and see what's there. Most checkers work with standard POP3 accounts (some with IMAP or webmail), and many will alert you when new messages arrive. Readers let you preview messages and make selective deletions.
